An important note to be made is that just because I’m uncomfortable with a certain ship/trope, that does not equate to a DNI !!
Please feel free to be yourself around me, and show me what you like! If something makes me uncomfortable, I will tell you, and I will expect us both to be understanding of each other and our boundaries

Respect needs to be mutual, I believe, or it’s not real/genuine respect ^^That being said, there are a few exceptions to the ships I’m uncomfortable with, but I will not be sharing them publicly
If we grow close enough, or if you enjoy certain “problematic” ships and share your interest in those, then I’ll gladly show off my own!
I just have paranoia and I’m constantly a little worried I’ll be outed for being a “bad person” and liking “bad things” and then “my reputation will be ruined for future things I want to do with my life”Which is one of the reasons I joined the proship community!
I thought people with a common interest would be kinder about that sort of thing, and boy was I right! The community is so accepting and comfortable, even with all of the topics I’m uncomfortable with! The people is what makes it such a joy to be in :3I’ve been proship/a comshipper for quite a while, but I never felt comfortable telling my friends about a darkfiction ship I liked, because at the time, they were the type of anti to shit on something as small and simple as a rarepair
As a former anti, before this whole “proship vs anti” debacle really surfaced on the interwebs,
idk where i was going with that one lolIn any case, I have anti friends
I haven’t told them about my being proship, but I’m also not withholding the information from them
I should feel comfortable enough that I don’t feel restricted in the friendship, and I’m not going to be letting myself hide away parts of who I am just for the fear of someone leaving me
If they’re real friends, then even despite the kinds of things I like, they won’t leave
So I’ve left my carrd out in the open for anyone to access, and if any of my anti friends end up reading this, then please talk to me about it
In a civil way, either saying something along the lines of “I’m sorry, I don’t feel comfortable being your friend anymore” or “even though I don’t agree with your interests, I respect them, and this is not going to break our friendship”
Or don’t say anything! Just please, I ask you, don’t act like your reading this didn’t happen
I want both sides of the party to feel comfortable with each otherThis also applies to fandom spaces!
I have a friend who hates Naruto and loves Hazbin Hotel
(I love Naruto and hate Hazbin Hotel)
And we’ve had heart to hearts before about how much we enjoy each others’ company despite these differences
So I don’t see how fandom interests aren’t the same as ship interests
Because Hazbin Hotel is a very controversial fandom that some may deam as problematic, and the same could be said about, I dunno
The ship BakuDeku from My Hero Academia (in the instance where it’s middle/early high-school and it’s still horribly toxic (no hate, ship what you like))there may be more to add but rn i can’t think of anythingBound to change/update
